PCSO expects hike in betting as Lotto jackpot hits P234 million


The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) expects more bettors for the Lotto 6/55 draw today as the jackpot reaches P234,187,200.00.

PCSO Manager Raul M. Regondola said in an interview, “Manada se man taya because of the pot money.”

According to Regondola, the office is expecting more bettors tonight. He also said that the city has more or less 5,268 lotto bettors a day with 75 lotto outlets.

The PCSO Manager also explained “This is totally luck, no amount of computation or analysis for a bettor to win.”

Lotto 6/55 is being played every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. The minimum cost of the ticket is P20.00 and the bettor needs to get the six winning numbers in any order to win the jackpot prize. The winner will get his or her prize tax free.

Proceeds on the sale of PCSO tickets are divided as follows, 30% goes to charity, 55% goes to the pot money, and 15% for the operation.

Regondola said “Si man taya sila na Lotto, chene ya sila chansa gana ya pwede pa sila ayuda.”

Earlier, somebody in the city became a Millioner after hitting the Lotto 6/42 jackpot of more than P28 Million during its draw on January 31.

Last year, the Region had a total of four lotto jackpot winners, one from Zamboanga City, two from Pagadian City, and one from Sibugay.

He also urged the public to continue supporting all the PCSO games because as they support the games, they also help indigents especially for their medicines and medical assistance.

From January 2011 to December 2011, the PCSO served a total of 32,882 beneficiaries where the assistance given was worth more than P16 Million including medicines and other medical assistance.
