The Philippine Senate has likewise sent employees home as Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile declared suspension of work due to bad weather.

DILG secretery Jesse Robredo in an interview with Karen Davila on ANC’s “Headstart” Tuesday morning said “suspension of classes has been localized.”

He added that “barangay captains and school principals can suspend classes” and “the announcement should be done at 5am.”

To eliminate confusion as to who should declare suspension of classes when there’s flooding, we have attached Executive Order No. 66, issued by Malacañang on January 9, 2012, which prescribes rules on the cancellation or suspension of classes and work in government offices due to typhoons, flooding, other weather disturbances, and calamities.
