According to various sources, Marian and Lorna are both competing in the “Best Actress in a Leading Role” category. They’re up against Debbie Goh (Malaysia), Jade Chou and Wen-Lin (Taiwan), and Kate Tsui Tsz-shan (Hong Kong).

Meanwhile, Kris is vying for the Best Entertainment Presenter/Host award against Krit Sripoomseth and Phanya Nirunkul (Thailand), and Oli Pettigrew and Bryan Wong (Singapore).

Once more, rapper-comedian Michael V earned a nomination for Best Comedy Performance by an Actor/Actress, competing against Cyrus Broacha (India), Jan Chin and Jack Yap (Malaysia), and Alaric Tay, Chua Enlai and Chua Enlai (Singapore).

GMA network has four programs nominated in the following categories: Best News Programme - “Saksi (Eye-Witness): Typhoon Pablo’s Trail of Death” and “24 Oras (24 Hours): Bagyong Pablo (Typhoon Pablo)”; Best Current Affairs Programme - “Reporter’s Notebook: Bagyong Pablo (Typhoon Pablo)” and Best Natural History or Wildlife Programme - “Born Impact: When Whales Strand.”

ABS-CBN, on the other hand, was nominated for Best Reality Show for “The X Factor Philippines.”

Netizens wonder why the Kapuso network got more nominations than its rival. Some Kapamilya fans say GMA clearly has an advantage because its chief executive officer Felipe Gozon is among the Asian Television Awards advisory board members.

Do you think the issue will affect the credibility of results of the 2013 Asian Television Awards?
