Andrew Garfield on 'Spider-Man'

Andrew Garfield might have mixed feelings about donning a spandex body suit for "The Amazing Spider-Man," but the English actor took on the challenge with respect for the beloved superhero.

"It was an honor to be so uncomfortable," Garfield told OnTheRedCarpet.com at the film's Los Angeles premiere on June 28.

When asked whether it was a small, medium or large popcorn type of movie, the actor said to "go large."

"It's subjective really, George, it depends on the size of the man or the woman and their appetite respectively," the 28-year-old actor said. "But in terms of generally speaking about the movie, I'd say go large because it's a large movie. But also an intimate one."

In the "Spider-Man" reboot, Peter Parker (Garfield) goes in search of clues that might explain what happened to his parents, who disappeared when he was young. His search brings him to Dr. Curt Connors, his father's former partner.

Emma Stone portrays Peter Parker's blonde love interest Gwen Stacy in "The Amazing Spider-Man," opposite "The Social Network" actor. The pair, who has been romantically linked since June 2011, met during a screen test for the upcoming superhero movie.

"Obviously I was so happy that she got the role and decided to do it," Garfield told MTV of Stone's casting. "Those are the days I'd look forward to, you know? For Peter as well, because Peter goes through some horrible stuff in the movie. There's some joy to be had when experiencing his first love."

Garfield has appeared in films like "The Other Boleyn Girl," "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" and "Never Let Me Go." The 28-year-old English actor was nominated for a Golden Globe for his role "The Social Network."

Stone rose to fame after appearing in "Superbad" and quickly racked up roles in "Crazy, Stupid, Love," "Friends with Benefits" and "The Help." Stone was nominated for a Golden Globe for her break-out role in "Easy A."

"The Amazing Spider-Man" is slated for release on July 3, 2012. Watch a trailer below.
