According to technology blog TechCrunch, the fifth generation iPad has a new design. It’s now 25 percent thinner and .4 lbs lighter than its predecessors.
The iPad Air still has a 9.7-inch display, but just weighs 1 pound and is only 7.5mm thick.
The new tablet sports a 64-bit A7 processor which is eight times faster than the first generation iPad. It comes with a 5-megapixel iSight camera and 1080p FaceTime camera at the front as well as dual microphones for video chat, the report said.
Battery lasts ten hours, the company said, but the iPad Air features no TouchID.
Meanwhile, the new iPad Mini now offers a Retina display, a 2048 x 1536 screen, although its very slightly thicker and heavier according to this post.
Apple added space gray as an iPad Mini color scheme and upgraded its processor to A7. A 128 GB storage option and an improved global LTE connectivity were announced.

The iPad Air, which will be available in black, white, silver, and space grey, has a starting price of $499 for the WiFi version and $629 for WiFi + Cellular variety.
Apple’s new iPads will be available in the United States beginning November 1.
